Beyond the obvious beauty of the Emerald Coast, there’s a deeper, more elusive splendor situated less than a mile off the shores of Grayton Beach State Park. Recently showcased in Time’s famed Greatest Places of 2018, the Underwater Museum of Art (UMA) resides about 57 feet under the Gulf of Mexico’s emerald green waters, marrying the beauty of sculpture and the life-sustaining power of artificial reefs.

The UMA’s permanent underwater sculpture garden, launched in 2017, draws a wide variety of marine life and provides a vital habitat in the form of a living reef. Conceived by Allison Wickey, president of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), the UMA attracts art lovers and marine wildlife in a mutually beneficial partnership.

Some things to consider before taking the plunge

The Emerald Coast is an attractive area for investing in second homes. In recent articles we’ve told you about the area’s healthy tourism and economic outlook and why the future of real estate sales is expected to remain promising. Just as a refresher, visitor numbers in South Walton alone grew from 3.2 million in 2015 to 4.1 million in 2017. The Emerald Coast enjoys a high volume of return visitors (more than 10 times for many), and the majority rent condos or homes during their stay.

Here at The Premier Property Group (PPG), we understand why so many people fall in love with the communities we serve and want to own property here. It’s our goal to make sure that customers make the best…

Overwhelming.  It’s the word most commonly used to describe the destruction left by Hurricane Michael—the biggest storm on record to hit the Florida panhandle—in Panama City, Mexico Beach and regions further east.

Like most people who live or own property along the Emerald Coast, The Premier Property Group (PPG) family felt a deep loss for our neighbors as well as a strong desire to help them rebuild. Contributions have ranged from toy drives, work teams, monetary donations and more, but few have demonstrated the kind of continued perseverance to bringing hope back to these regions as PPG Realtor Michael Tounge. It’s one of the many reasons he was the recipient of the PPG Life Award this past December.

Like many PPG agents, Michael took…

Simply put, it’s an exciting time to own property along the Emerald Coast. Affordable waterfront lifestyles are not easy to come by along Florida’s coveted Emerald Coast. Add new construction and great amenities to the mix, and the combination becomes nearly non-existent apart from the Premier Property Group’s (PPG’s) exclusive Miller’s Landing on Lake Powell.

A community of 25 townhomes situated along one of the region’s rapidly growing corridors, the first phase of this popular development sold out prior to the first building’s completion in mid-2018. And while the second of the four planned buildings is on track for completion in June, PPG’s COO Jason White noted that prospective buyers will want to act fast as the price-point for these high-end investments is simply unmatched in the region.

“We are introducing…

Out with the old and in with the new! While every new year offers an opportunity for new beginnings, it’s also a great time to consider a fresh look to brighten up real estate investments and align with the latest trends.

Rena Anderson, a Premier Property Group (PPG) design consultant, offers some insight into what’s on the horizon in 2019 for new construction along with effective ways to update an existing look.

Paint –A simple new color can dramatically change the mood and look of any home. In 2019, look for warmer palettes to begin replacing the cool whites and grays that saturated the design industry in recent years. Anderson suggests shifting to warmer whites with matte black as a strong accent and jewel or primary colors for bold pops of…

The right combination of sandy shoreline, sunshine and water is a sure bet for drawing healthy numbers of visitors and real estate buyers in many locales. Yet, savvy beach goers know there is something inherently special about the Emerald Coast.

An uncommon blend of sparkling emerald green waters and crystal white sand not only offer distinctive appeal to Premier Property Group neighborhoods, but this combination also continuously lands the Florida Panhandle in rankings for top beach destinations nationally and globally. While the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico speaks for itself, it’s the miles upon miles of snow white sand that truly sets the Emerald Coast apart for many coastal aficionados.

The Premier Group will reach another milestone this month with the completion of the newest building in the Brownstones development at Kelly Plantation. Following completion of the fourth building in this celebrated community, the company will bring four brand new residences into the sought after Destin market.

“The Brownstones development is extremely popular due to its location and price point,” said Grady Elder, broker with the Premier Property Group. “Buyers would be hard pressed to find a comparable new-build, luxury offering in Kelly Plantation that is within $100,000 of these townhome residences. We anticipate this new building will sell out as quickly as the first three.”

Priced between $559,000 and $599,000, the new 3-bedroom, 2.5…
