Joanna Clary Bonfanti is a seventh generation Floridian from Destin. Being born and raised on the Emerald Coast, Joanna witnessed first-hand the growth and transformation this tiny "fishing village" has experienced. Joanna left Destin after graduating from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1998 to pursue higher education at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in business. She returned to Florida in 2002 and attended the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee and graduated in 2004. While attending law school, Joanna met her husband Mark Bonfanti, of Salem, New Hampshire, who was a law student as well. Joanna and Mark married on October 1, 2005, at the Seaside Chapel and started their professional careers in Tallahassee. For over 15 years Joanna worked as a lobbyist representing clients before the Florida legislature and executive agencies. Joanna and Mark relocated to Destin in 2018, where Mark is the Managing Shareholder of the Destin office for Hall, Gilligan, Shanlever, and Roberts. While she still enjoys a passion for public policy and Florida politics, Joanna turned her interests to pursuing a real estate career. Joanna obtained her real estate license in 2020 and joined the team at Premier Property Group. Joanna and Mark have two daughters, Lucy and Caroline, who love living at the beach. The Bonfantis also have two dogs, Winnie an English Bulldog, and Remy a French Bulldog.
